Plants acaulescent or short-caulescent. Stems erect, to 1 m, 2.3–4.5 m with peduncle and inflorescence. Leaf blade linear, 20–75 × 0.4–1.7 cm, rigid. Inflorescences mostly racemose, sometimes paniculate proximally, 4–20 dm; peduncle 1.2–2.5 m. Flowers 3–5.2 cm; tepals creamy white, elliptic to lanceolate-ovate; filaments 0.7–2.4 cm; pistil 1.5–3.2 cm; style 3–10 mm. Capsules moderately constricted, 4.5–6 cm.


Phenology: Flowering spring–early summer.
Habitat: Sandy hillsides of desert mesas
Elevation: 2000 m
