Stems: twigs ± straight; thorns on twigs absent or few. Leaf blades broadly elliptic to ovate, lobes 4–6 per side, sinuses deep (LII 20–40%), lobe apex acute. Stamens 20. Pomes red.


Phenology: Flowering Mar–May; fruiting Sep–Nov.
Habitat: Brush, open woodlands, flood plains
Elevation: 50–300
