Stems: base flexuous or decumbent; branches 1 or 2(–5) pairs, usually flexuous. Inflorescences: bract surfaces glabrous or hairy, hairs eglandular bristles, teeth not much longer than wide. Flowers: corolla 7–11(–13) mm.


Phenology: Flowering early summer–fall.
Habitat: Europe (Faroe, Orkney, and Shetland islands)..
Elevation: 0–300 m.

Nfld. and Labr. (Nfld.), Ont., Europe (Faroe, Orkney, and Shetland islands).

Discussion

Subspecies arctica is represented in continental North America by as yet only a few collections (M. J. Oldham 29317, TRTE; M. J. Oldham, 32017, MICH; M. O. Malte N943/29, CAN).
