Plants annual. Leaf blades lanceolate, ovate, or usually triangular, glabrous. Perianth segments 3(–4), connate only at base or connate into irregular lobes, margins entire; stigmas 0.1–0.5 mm. Seeds vertical.

North America, Europe, Asia.

Discussion

Species 4 or 5 (2 in the flora).
