Plants scapose; glabrous or puberulent, trichomes crisped, simple or branched. Stems 0.1–0.5 dm, glabrous or puberulent. Basal leaves thick, leathery; blade oblanceolate to oblong, (0.3–)0.5–1.2(–1.4) cm × (0.5–)1–2(–2.5) mm, margins ciliate, (trichomes simple and forked, to 0.3 mm), apex acute, surfaces glabrous or sparsely puberulent, trichomes simple and stalked, forked or subdendritic, crisped (not setiform); midvein prominent. Cauline leaves absent. Racemes 2–20-flowered. Fruiting pedicels 2–6(–8) mm, glabrous or puberulent. Flowers: sepals 2.5–4 × 1–1.5 mm; petals white, spatulate, 3.5–6 × 1.5–2 mm, attenuate to clawlike base to 1 mm; filaments 2–3 mm; anthers 0.5–0.6 mm; gynophore 0–0.5 mm. Fruits ovoid to ellipsoid, terete, (2–)3–6(–7) × 2.5–3 mm; valves each with obscure midvein, rounded on back, glabrous or puberulent; style (0.5–)1–2(–2.5) mm. Seeds brown, 2–3 × 1.5–2 mm.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Aug.
Habitat: Scree, serpentine ridges, red barren hillsides, rocky ridges, loose volcanic hillsides
Elevation: 1500-2500 m
