Stems 2–6 cm; glabrous or sparsely puberulent, trichomes simple. Basal leaves: petiole 0.5–3 cm (base persistent, papery, broadly expanded, narrowly triangular, 0.2–0.4 cm wide); blade (subfleshy), spatulate, oblanceolate, or ovate, 0.5–1.2 cm × 2–4 mm, base cuneate to attenuate, apex obtuse, surfaces glabrous or puberulent. Cauline leaves (bracts), sessile; blade similar to basal, narrower, smaller distally. Racemes subumbellate. Fruiting pedicels 1.5–5 mm, glabrous or sparsely puberulent adaxially. Flowers: sepals often purplish, 1.5–2 × 0.7–1 mm, glabrous; petals purple with darker veins, 2–3 × 1–2 mm; filaments 1.5–2 mm; anthers 0.2–0.4 mm; gynophore 0–0.7 mm. Fruits compressed, 5–15 × 2–3 mm; style 0.2–1 mm. Seeds light brown, 1.2–1.7 × 0.8–1 mm; funicles 2–3 mm. 2n = 14.

Habitat: Limestone slopes, subalpine valleys, wet cliffs, ridges, fine gravel saturated by snowmelt
Elevation: 0-2100 m
