Shrubs or trees, 1.5–5 m, (branching opposite or subopposite). Buds caprea-type. Leaves: stipules on late ones absent; largest medial blade (amphistomatous), 2.8–9.2 times as long as wide, adaxial surface glaucous. Staminate flowers: filaments hairy basally. Pistillate flowers: adaxial nectary longer than stipe; stipe 0–0.1 mm; ovary very densely short-silky; stigmas with flat, non-papillate abaxial surface and rounded tip, 0.16–0.2–0.24 mm.
Distribution
Introduced; Europe.
