Plants eglandular, often canescent. Basal leaves: lateral lobes 2 or 3 (or 4) pairs, margins usually entire. Cauline leaves: lobes linear, margins entire. Racemes eglandular. Fruiting pedicels horizontal to divaricate, (10–)13–25(–30) mm. Fruits curved inward.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jun.
Habitat: Disturbed grounds, rocky hillsides, pinyon-juniper woodlands, grassy benches, flats
Elevation: 1500-2300 m

Discussion

Subspecies paysonii and incisa are reliably separated by their pedicel length, orientation, and shape and margin of lateral leaf lobes.
