Leaves: lobes relatively broad to filiform. Ray florets 4–8. 2n = 17.
Phenology: Flowering spring–fall.
Habitat: Crevices in limestone and granite cliffs
Elevation: 1500–3000 m
Discussion
Variety staurophylla occurs in the Caballo, Fra Cristobal, Sacramento, and San Andres mountains of south-central New Mexico.
