Annuals, 5–20+ cm. Leaf blades simple or 1(–2)-pinnately lobed, terminal lobes spatulate to narrowly oblanceolate, 1–3 mm wide. Peduncles 5–12(–20+) cm. Calyculi of 5–7+ oblong to linear bractlets 4–8(–10) mm, ciliolate near bases. Phyllaries (5–)8, ovate to lance-ovate, 4–5(–7) mm. Ray florets 5–8; laminae 8–12(–15+) mm. Disc florets 12–30+; corollas 2.5–3.5 mm. Cypselae ± obovate, 4–5 mm, not marked adaxially with red, wings corky-thickened, faces smooth or ± tuberculate, not hirtellous. 2n = 24.
Phenology: Flowering Mar–May.
Habitat: Rocky slopes, serpentine ridges
Elevation: 400–800 m
