Plants to 1.7 cm, light green. Stem leaves oblong-lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate; margins irregularly serrate near apex; apex acute, usually with ± gradual apiculus. Specialized asexual reproduction by elliptic gemmae, of 4–9 cells, longitudinal septa present, curved.
Habitat: Crevices in vertical rock faces
Elevation: high elevations
Discussion
Variety dentatus is distinguished by robust plants, sharply toothed distal leaf margins, and abundant gemmae with curved longitudinal septae. The variety has been found in the flora area only in the White Mountains.
