Phenology: Flowering Jun–Jul.
Habitat: Foothill woodlands, forest margins.
Elevation: 300–800 m.

Discussion

Subspecies borealis is known only from western Shasta and eastern Trinity counties and is listed as rare by the California Native Plant Society.
