Shrubs or trees, to 5 m. Stems glabrous or glabrate. Leaves deciduous; petiole 1.5–6 mm; blade 9–52 mm, abaxial surface glabrous or sparsely villous along midrib. Pedicels 2–16 mm, glabrous. Flowers: sepals glabrous; ovary sparsely strigose.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Floodplain forests, low pine woodlands and savannas, glades
Elevation: 10-100 m
