Trichomes somewhat spreading (on herbage), loose and spreading (on fruits). Basal leaves: blade margins repand to dentate. Fruits moderately inflated, (firm); ovules 8 per ovary. 2n = 16, 24, 56?
Phenology: Flowering May–Aug.
Habitat: Gravel bars, steep shale outcrops, rocky flats, gravelly prairies, talus slopes, dry hillsides, road cuts, mountains and foothills
Elevation: 500-3100 m
Distribution
Alta., B.C., Idaho, Mont., Wash., Wyo.
