Stems usually green, sometimes purple or black, sparsely pubescent. Leaf blades green to light green, surfaces sparsely pubescent. Petals red-orange. 2n = 10, 20.
Phenology: Flowering summer–fall.
Habitat: Forested areas
Elevation: 900–2500 m
Distribution
Ariz., Colo., Kans., N.Mex., Mexico (Chihuahua, Sonora).
