Basal leaf blades: margins toothed. Petals 12–20 mm. 2n = 28.
Phenology: Flowering late spring-mid summer.
Habitat: Rocky crevices and slopes, 400-2200 m
Discussion
Variety heckneri is known only from the southern Klamath Ranges in Trinity County.
