Bulbs never rhizomatous, ovoid. Leaves usually persistent; blade 10–40 cm. Scape usually persistent, not strongly flattened or winged, 10–40 cm. Umbel 10–50-flowered; spathe bracts 2–3. Flowers 8–10 mm; tepals erect, apex acute; stamens ± equaling tepals or exserted; ovary crestless; pedicel 8–20 mm. 2n = 42.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jul.
Habitat: Rocky, gravelly, or clay soils
Elevation: 700–800 m

Discussion

Allium tolmiei var. persimile is known only from the southern end of the Seven Devils Mountains.
