Cauline leaves greatly overlapping; proximal inflorescence bract nearly as wide as leaves, well exceeding inflorescence. Tepals: outer and inner whorls chestnut, ca. 4 mm, apex pointed. Capsules chestnut brown, shorter than tepals. Seeds 1.5 mm; caruncle 0.2–0.3 mm.


Phenology: Flowering and fruiting in summer.
Habitat: Grassy places
Elevation: 0–500 m
