Plants 100–150 cm. Leaves: blades glabrous. Phyllaries: abaxial faces glabrous. Ray florets 20–36+. Disc florets 130–225. 2n = 14.
Phenology: Flowering mid summer–early fall.
Habitat: Prairies, along roads and railroads
Elevation: 100–600 m
Distribution
Ont., Ark., Iowa, Kans., Mo., Nebr., N.Mex., Okla., Tex., Wyo.
