Leaf blades bright green or yellow abaxially, dark green adaxially, narrowly to broadly elliptic, 2–8 cm, margins entire or sharply serrate, flat, apex acute, both surfaces glabrous or abaxial slightly puberulent; veins prominent abaxially. Drupe stones 2.
Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Coastal sage scrub, desert scrub, chaparral, woodlands, forest edges.
Elevation: 0–2800 m.
Distribution
Calif., introduced in Pacific Islands (Hawaii).
