Flowers: petals 4.5–8 mm, orangish yellow, orange, or burnt orange; stamens 7–14 mm, longest usually much more than 1 mm longer than petals.
Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Sagebrush scrub.
Elevation: 700–1000 m.
Discussion
Variety acerosa is known from southwestern Idaho (Ada, Elmore, Gooding, Owyhee, and Twin Falls counties).
