Leaf blades broadly elliptic, 3–5 cm, adaxial surface sparsely to densely appressed-pubescent young, glabrescent. Inflorescence branches glabrous. Flowers: hypanthium glabrous.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jun; fruiting Sep–Oct.
Habitat: Brush, roadsides, woodland edges
Elevation: 20–200 m

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Variety cyclophylla grows in southern New England and eastern Ontario.
