Bulbs oblique-ovoid, 0.7–1.2 cm; outer coats brown to gray-brown, breaking with serrate edges, cells of reticulum V-shaped. Flowers 7–12 mm; tepals lance-ovate, apex acute to obtuse. 2n = 14.


Phenology: Flowering late May–early Aug.
Habitat: Clay soils, including serpentine
Elevation: 50–1000 m
