Bulbs 1–2 × 1.3–2 cm. Scape 18–54 cm. Flowers: tepals: outer 3–5 mm, inner 4.5–6.5 mm, margins entire or ± irregular, apex acute; anthers mostly yellow; stigma obscurely 3-lobed; pedicel 10–22 mm. 2n = 14.
Phenology: Flowering late Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Heavy serpentine clay
Elevation: 700–1400 m
