Leaves: basal usually persisting. Flowers: calyx lobes (4–)6–8 × 1.8–2.6 mm; corolla 18–27 mm, sparsely glandular-pubescent externally, limb blue; pollen sacs (1.3–)1.6–2.2 mm; style 13–17 mm.
Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Sagebrush shrublands, oak-maple, aspen, juniper, fir, and pine woodlands.
Elevation: 1700–3000 m.
Distribution
Colo., Utah, Wyo.
Discussion
Variety garrettii occurs largely in the Uinta Mountains and southern Wasatch Mountains. The variety is known in Colorado from Moffat County, in Utah from Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Grand, Uintah, Utah, and Wasatch counties, and in Wyoming from Sweetwater and Uinta counties.
