Twigs glandular-hairy. Leaf blades strongly white-glaucous, base rounded, sometimes ± lobed to truncate, surfaces scabrous, finely glandular-hairy or sparsely puberulent. Inflorescences: immature inflorescence axis densely white-hairy, eglandular; bracts densely white-hairy, eglandular. Pedicels densely white-hairy. Ovaries densely white-hairy. Fruits slightly depressed-globose. Stones distinct.


Phenology: Flowering winter–early spring.
Habitat: interior chaparral on gabbroic soils
Elevation: 200-1200 m

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Subspecies leucophylla occurs from the Peninsular Range of California southward to northern Baja California.
