Stems: spines at nodes 1(–3); internodal prickles absent or few. Leaf blades 2–3 cm, base truncate to cordate, surfaces finely pubescent or abaxially glabrous, lobes rounded, margins irregularly 1 or 2 times shallowly incised and crenate-serrate. Peduncles 6–15 mm. Pedicels 3–6 mm, glabrous. Flowers: hypanthium green, campanulate or short-tubular, 2–4 mm, glabrous; sepals pale greenish or with some reddish or purplish tinge at least near base, oblong, 4.5–5.5 mm, apex rounded to obtuse, glabrous; petals white or slightly pinkish, obovate, 2–3.5 mm, base cuneate, apex rounded, often erose; filaments 2–3.5 mm; styles 6.5–8 mm.
Phenology: Flowering Mar–Jun.
Habitat: Canyons, hillsides, moist forests, glades, thickets
Elevation: 900-1600 m
