Distinguished from other subgenera by the combination of evergreen leaves, suberect to erect stems hidden by old petiole bases, veins meeting margin above the sinuses, and the generally greatly reduced proximal pinnae. x = 29.

Discussion

Thelypteris resinifera is included in the genus Amauropelta by some workers.
