Leaves: petioles 7–30 cm; blades 7–35 cm diam. Peduncles 1–14 cm. Corollas 10–20 mm. Cypselae 6–8.5 mm; pappi 10–18 mm. 2n = 60 (as Luina).
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jul.
Habitat: Meadows, open places, pine and oak forests, sometimes on serpentine
Elevation: 180–1900 m
