Leaves: distals distinctly smaller than proximals. Flowers: corolla pink to lavender or purple, 27–35 mm; stamens included, pollen sacs 1.2–1.7 mm.
Phenology: Flowering May–Aug.
Habitat: Rock outcrops, talus slopes.
Elevation: 900–3300 m.
Discussion
Variety berryi is known from the Klamath region of northwestern California (Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Mendocino, Siskiyou, and Trinity counties) and southwestern Oregon (Curry, Douglas, Jackson, and Josephine counties).
