|discussion=<p>The transparent fruits of var. siskiyouensis, with ovules readily apparent through the walls, are the largest for the species. Variety siskiyouensis occurs in northern Coastal Ranges in California and southwestern Oregon, passing in the Klamath Basin into var. confusus.</p>
