|discussion=<p><i>Loeskypnum badium</i> is easily recognizable in the field by the often golden brown or coppery brown color (often blackish in older parts), normally weakly branched shoots, and strongly concave and usually broad, falcate leaves with relatively short-acuminate apices. The species is separated from <i>L. wickesiae</i> by its more or less falcate, acuminate or short-acuminate leaves.</p>
