|discussion=<p><i>Cyrto-hypnum schistocalyx</i>, an essentially tropical species, is distinguished by the ciliate perichaetial leaves and roughened seta. The species occurs in Dade County; south of the flora area it occurs from sea level to 200 m elevation.</p>
