|discussion=<p><i>Coix</i> is a genus of about five species, one of which has been introduced into the Flora region. All the species are native to tropical Asia, where <i>C. lacryma-jobi</i> and, to a lesser extent, <i>C. gigantea</i> are harvested for food.</p>
