|discussion=<p>Subspecies corymbosa is most often mistaken for <i>Orobanche californica</i> with which it was formerly associated taxonomically. The two species are very similar morphologically; <i>Orobanche corymbosa</i>, with only two subspecies, has much less morphological variability. Except for a small area of sympatry in eastern California, the two species are otherwise allopatric.</p>
