|discussion=<p><i>Ptychostomum pendulum</i> is a small plant found in dry sites, similar overall to <i>P. archangelicum</i> and <i>P. inclinatum</i>. The larger spores and unusual chambered appearance of the exostome teeth are diagnostic. Capsules are needed for identification.</p>
