|discussion=<p>Variety greenei is restricted to the North Coast Ranges of northwestern California (Humboldt, Mendocino, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties). In the herbarium, it is occasionally difficult to distinguish from nonserpentine populations of <i></i>var.<i> proliferum</i>. The variety is worthy of cultivation.</p>
