Rosettes each with 100–200 leaves at maturity, light green, flat-topped. Leaves (3–)9–20(–27) × 0.5–1.2 cm; margins denticulate below mid leaf. Flowers 1.6–2.1 cm; limb lobes 6.5–7 mm; filaments 1.1–1.3 cm; ovary 0.8–1.2 cm. 2n = 60.


Phenology: Flowering late spring.
Habitat: Open gravelly to rocky limestone or basalt slopes, mostly with desert scrub, chaparral, and pinyon?juniper woodlands
Elevation: 800–1700 m
