Leaves: stipular glands absent. Flowers: stamens spreading; styles 5–11 mm, stigmas light gray. 2n = 30.


Phenology: Flowering May–Sep.
Habitat: Short grass prairie, fields, roadsides, on clay, rarely calcareous soils.
Elevation: (300–)1000–2300 m.
