Stems 3.2–4.5 (–8) cm diam, ribs (6–) 7–9 (–10);, areoles (9–) 14–25 (–36) mm apart. Spines: radial spines 8–10 (–13) per areole, 9.5–19 (–33) mm, central spines 1–4 per areole, (12–) 20–44 (–50) mm.
Habitat: Tamaulipan thorn scrub, oak savannas, limestone bluffs, well-drained alluvium
Elevation: 0-1000 m
Distribution
Tex., Mexico (Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas).
