Leaves lunate in cross section. Scape 0.5–7 cm. Flowers 16–25 mm; perianth tube 6–9 mm, lobes 10–16 mm; anthers 3–4 mm; ovary 7–9 mm; style 4–5 mm; pedicel 3–15 cm. 2n = 12, 36.


Phenology: Flowering spring (Apr–Jun).
Habitat: Coastal prairies, foothill woodlands
Elevation: 0–400 m
