Corollas white to pink. 2n = 16.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Limestone and gypsum soils, tallgrass and mixed-grass prairies.
Elevation: 200–1000 m.
Distribution
Ariz., Ark., Colo., Ill., Iowa, Kans., Mo., Nebr., N.Mex., Ohio, Okla., Tex.
Discussion
Reports of var. cobaea from Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, and Ohio appear to be based on introductions, as are some reports from western Kansas and western Nebraska.
