Leaves: blade round, less than 2.5 cm, base broadly cuneate, lobe sinuses shallow to ± deep, apex obtuse to subacute. Flowers 12–17 mm diam. Pomes broadly ellipsoid to suborbicular.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–May; fruiting Sep–Oct.
Habitat: Hedgerows, thickets, margins of woods, often in somewhat dry areas
Elevation: 70–200 m

Discussion

Variety meiophylla is a rare plant notable for its small leaves.
