Plants to 20 cm. Leaves ± spreading; blade acerose to subulate, 5–6 mm, surfaces sparsely sericeous, glabrescent. Pedicels 4–7 mm. Flowers: sepal apices acuminate to attenuate; petals yellow; ovaries hairy ± throughout. 2n = 20.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Jul.
Habitat: Openings among shrubs, barrens, rocks at cliff edges
Elevation: 900–1200 m
