Stems 4–25(–43) cm. Cauline leaves 19–80 × 2–5(–10) mm, blade lanceolate to linear, usually folded lengthwise and curved. Flowers: corolla (22–)25–35 mm, white-lanate, rarely glabrous, internally abaxially.


Phenology: Flowering Jul–Aug.
Habitat: Rocky, limestone slopes in sagebrush shrublands and pine-aspen woodlands.
Elevation: 2100–4000 m.

Discussion

Variety francisci-pennellii is known from Lincoln, Nye, and White Pine counties. Populations have been documented in the Egan, Grant, Schell Creek, Snake, and Wilson Creek ranges.
