Heads 40–90+. Phyllaries ± 8, 4–6 mm. Ray florets ± 5; corolla laminae 5–7 mm. Disc florets 10–20.
Phenology: Flowering summer.
Habitat: Open stream banks and meadows in coniferous woodlands and sagebrush-conifer associations
Elevation: 1000–3000 m
Distribution
Calif., Idaho, Mont., Nev., Oreg., Utah, Wash., Wyo.
Discussion
Variety serra occurs from the Sierra Nevada of California northward and eastward to Montana, northern Wyoming, and the Uinta and Wasatch mountains of Utah.
