Discussion

Variety minor forms hybrids with Baptisia sphaerocarpa (B. × variicolor Kosnik, Diggs, Redshaw & Lipscomb), and B. lactea (B. × bicolor Greenman & Larisey), as documented by M. A. Kosnik et al. (1996). It is introduced in Ontario.
